for a child in need

The two organizations you see mentioned above plus Abantu are working together to fundraise and help orphans and the disabled of Afghanistan. There is an estimated 2 million orphans who need health care, food, clothing, education, and a safe place to stay. The Afghan Government is looking after 10,000 in State run orphanages - the rest rely on the generosity of others.

Twenty years of conflict has severely disrupted the infrastructure and economy of Afghanistan. Disability levels are high and much of the population has little access to health facilities. Re-establishing and strengthening rehabilitation services is therefore an important country priority. With about 3% of the population disabled, there are over 600,000 people requiring assistance.

Please help us with our first of many shipments of health care equipment by donating funds to pay the shipping costs. We are trying to raise $10,000 to cover the cost of transport and the setting up of the equipment in a facility in Mazar-e-sharif, in northern Afghanistan.
